Amen Thompson emerged as a leading piece in the Houston Rockets’ rebuild during his rookie season in 2023-24. Thompson was rewarded for his efforts with an NBA honor Monday afternoon.
Thompson was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team on Monday. He is the fifth Houston player to earn an All-Rookie designation across the last four seasons, joining Jae’Sean Tate in 2020-21 (First Team), Jalen Green in 2021-22 (First Team) and Tari Eason and Jabari Smith Jr. in 2022-23 (both Second Team). Thompson appeared on 90 of 99 All-Rookie ballots, earning 10 first-place votes.
